wolfsuite

Wolf Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, and Word engines for Python

Automate the Office files your business already uses.

One approved dataset updates the existing spreadsheet, deck, and memo a reporting team already uses, then proves what happened: editable outputs, refusals before partial publication, and recovery after a process kill at the boundaries the qualification exercises. Start with WolfXL today, or qualify your reporting workflow for the suite early access in preparation.

  • WolfXL Community MIT on public PyPI
  • WolfPPT free for commercial use under MIT

Three engines, one vendor
WolfXLStandalone commercial offering

WolfPPTMIT, free including commercial use

WolfDocxPrivate reporting candidate

Products

Pick the engine for the document job.

Each product page states what the engine does, what is free, what payment adds, and how to try your own file. Nothing here requires the suite: WolfXL and WolfPPT each stand on their own.

Standalone commercial offering

WolfXL

Supported Excel workbook workflows in Python: modify, calculate, render, and convert without desktop Excel in the server path.

Community is MIT on public PyPI. Commercial 2.1+ keeps its separate license, pricing, and purchase route.

Named supported workflow

Monthly Operating-Review Pack

Update approved values in an existing XLSX model and PPTX deck, with explicitly scoped DOCX memo operations and saved-output verification.

Discovery

Each engine inspects its source file and reports the editable structures it finds and the content they currently hold: chart and table cells in the deck, table cells and text runs in the memo, cell ranges in the workbook.

Target binding

An edit names its target by restating that current content, and the deck and memo requests also carry the digest of the exact source file. A file that changed underneath the job is a mismatch, not a surprise overwrite.

Execution

The control plane runs the three engines as separate command-line processes into a new output bundle. Inputs are never modified, and every operation stops on failure, cleans up staging, and requires verification.

Independent verification

Reader libraries that are not the engines reopen the saved workbook, deck, and memo. The workbook check asserts the intended values, the reporting period, and an untouched reference cell; the deck and memo checks compare untouched package members byte for byte.

Implemented today

A concrete three-format reporting workflow: one approved dataset updates an existing workbook, deck, and memo through guarded edits, and independent readers reopen each saved file to verify the result.

Exercised on macOS arm64 and Linux x86_64, with a CPython 3.13 engine environment.

Release status

A private reporting candidate passed the workflow, refusal, and recovery qualification. Customer-package qualification is pending, and the candidate's distribution remains private pending release review.

No customer platform is qualified yet.

Explicitly excluded

  • General Microsoft Office rendering parity
  • Spreadsheet recalculation parity
  • Unseen customer-template compatibility
  • Crash-durable storage

A private reporting candidate passed the workflow, refusal, and recovery qualification on macOS arm64 and Linux x86_64. That is private candidate qualification, not public package readiness: candidate distribution remains private pending release review, it grants no suite evaluation or purchase rights, and WolfXL's existing evaluation path is unchanged.

Support included in a paid plan

  • Installation
  • Documented API behavior
  • Reproducible defects
  • Named supported workflows

Scoped separately

  • Building a customer's application
  • Bespoke migrations
  • Negotiated service obligations

Authorized humans are counted once across the suite. No per-document, slide, worksheet, agent, CI-runner, or production-server charge is proposed.

Commercial status

What is on sale, and what is not.

WolfXL stays independent

WolfXL Commercial keeps its existing purchase route, prices, agreement, and distribution process. Check current checkout availability on the pricing page.

In preparation, not for sale

Wolf Suite Early Access is proposed at $39 per month or $399 per year for one person, and $149 per month or $1,499 per year for up to five. Sales will open only after agreement approval and customer-release qualification.

Policy drafts pending approval

Two drafts await approval: a standard policy permitting ordinary application SaaS on standard plans, and continuing-use terms under which monthly and annual plans alike retain perpetual internal use of lawfully obtained versions after ordinary expiry, while downloads, updates, support, and new distributions end. Neither draft is part of any accepted agreement and neither grants rights today.

Existing WolfXL customers

Your subscription, renewal price, and rights are unchanged. When the suite qualifies, you may request voluntary remainder-of-paid-term early access with a scope acceptance. Renewal stays an explicit WolfXL-or-suite choice.
